You gotta love random covers.... A little back story has to go into this post. A while back (5 years?) Greg and I went to a relatively crappy concert. The high light of the concert was when the warmup band said they were going to play a classic video game theme song. While it took us a few seconds into the song to realze it was Tetris (Korobeiniki). It was their only good song. As for the main band I felt like I was just listening to their CD's on random.
Anyway..... when I saw this video, that is what I thought of.... How cool would it be to go to a concert and hear this?

NICE. I love the decay to all-out-rock-out by the end. :)

I had the absolute pleasure of going to "Video Games Live", A Video game music orchestra!
They change what themes they play every event, and unfortunately I didint get to hear any MI (they do play it tho!) but all the same, going there really had to be one of the best things I've ever done in my life.
I had Pins and needles, and was on the verge of crying during the Civilization and Sonic Music... man that was awesome.
It all ended with the Halo theme, complemented by electric guitar... oddly, I think it actually took away from the grand feel of it.
Good times... I'm so doing that again next year.

where is that held?

They go on tour all over the states, but usually have at least one event in Canada(where I live) and Britain

Hey they're coming to DC, Greg.... you, me and Tucker should go see them when they are there.
bigmac- 03-24-2008
That would be awesome! Although, it would have to just be us. Sadly, I'm loosing Tucker in a few weeks here... he and Sabine are getting ready to move out to California in April. I'm bummed, I'll miss not having Tucker here! However, I am of course happy and excited for him.
Tucker, you'd better not ditch us here on the forums!!

Posts like that remind me how I'm kind-of the odd one out around here...
Anyway ya, I really do recommend going.
That had to be the best music of any sort I've ever heard, and all put into a really enjoyable show.

Haha, no Shofixti... this really isn't a "club" thing. Wes (SeanCyrusTowel) and I grew up together, and Tucker and I became friends through sheer dumb luck of these forums and the fact that we happened to live in the same city. Though albiet, I do know several other members on here personally after meeting up with them during travels. BTW, where are you from? For some reason Toronto, Canada stands out in my mind for you, although I could be thinking of someone else. Also, not to ask a super personal question, but do you have a name? ;)

I dunno.. you can't get much more detached living in a town in the north east UK that has no tourist attactions.. unless your really into trains.. and most of that has now been moved to York lol.. its not the sort of place that gets put on a "must visit" list. Even the town center is a modern fake of what it looked like 50 odd years ago lol

Names Mike, and ya, you must be thinking of somebody else.
Luke Skywalker best put where I live:
"If theres a bright center in this universe, were the place furthest from"
(or something like that anyway)

I would be in the same boat if it wernt for the big nickel... which is really strange, I could never figure out how that thing became a "tourist attraction".

big nickel?
Shofixti- 03-26-2008
big nickel?
Worlds Largest Coin.

Ah... well that explains everything. A random, GIANT nickel.
So what part of Canada are you from? I've got a bunch of family up in Nova Scotia who I (used to) go up to visit frequently. It's been a while though since joining the work force. There's some great areas up there; I always loved New Brunswick and PEI. I also have relatives out on the West Coast in Alberta and Vancouver... although I don't think I've been out to see them since I was about 8 years old :P

Just Plain old Northern Ontario for me... Away from anything of any meaningful value to anybody.
Really, I wouldn't have it any other way... I can't visit a big City without feeling absolutely disgusted.
