MS Office on Mac sucks for sure. Unexpected quits, useless dictionary, powerpoint preferences are screwy. Isn't there an open source alternative that was gaining momentum a while back?

Open Office ?

Lazy me should have googled. :P The real question is - is it any good? And how does it compare to NeoOffice? Why do I like seeking out this underdog software so much?

I like it in windows but can't say in mac as I don't have my mac yet..

I'm not familiar with Open Office. Is that an open source application that interfaces with the standard MS Office file types? That would be pretty sweet... And yeah Polar... you hit it on the head: MS Office apps quit like a son-of-a-gun on you. I think I ramped up my auto-save timer to the max frequency of 30 seconds back in college because I was loosing writing papers so frequently. That, and because my computer was on the same circuit as a space heater and microwave oven which tripped the breaker when they were used at the same time. Ah, the college days. :?
