The Exchange Student: Flash coder needed Hello everyone,
We are a small team working on an episodic interactive sitcom with cartoon graphics and we need someone who can code the game in flash. This is a paid position but due to the fact that we are brand new, we have a very tight budget and we can only offer 700 Euros for the coding of the first episode, with a 100 Euro bonus if you can code the first episode of the game within 1 and a half month. Hopefully the game will do well in sales and then we can offer more money for future episodes.
The game is called The Exchange Student. The story of The Exchange Student is about Emilio Carboni, a 22 y.o. Italian student who has never had a girlfriend in his entire life. His friend Vicenzo just came back from an exchange program in Sweden. Vicenzo was really satisfied with the program since he met a lot of very attractive ladies during his stay in Sweden. Emilio decides to follow his friend's path. He travels to Sweden to spend a semester there, studying in a city of Sweden called Västerås. Soon though he will realize that getting a girlfriend in Sweden is as hard as getting a girlfriend anywhere else!
We have on the team already:
Will Eaken and Bill Tiller- They have worked for classic adventure games like Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis, The Dig and Curse of the Monkey Island. This is one of the backgrounds they have created for the game so far:
Dave Rigley: He is the creator of the webcomic 24 1/2 Water Street .He will be creating characters and doing the animation for The Exchange Student.

Cool, I hope to hear from you soon. I actually sent you an email yesterday through the email form of this website but I don't know if you received it or not. Looking forward to your mail.
LOL! Good for Dimitris! He's getting it done... that's awesome. I was really psyched about the prospect of working on that project with him, but the logistics just weren't realistic in the time frame he was looking to fulfill. In retrospect, our decision not to contract was the absolute best one possible (for both of us)... expecially when I got hit with that month of 16 hour days just after we'd parted ways. I'm glad to see he found someone to successfully develop it, and (as it looks like) to do a nice job with it!

The demo is out there, too. Check out Adventure Europe.

For real? do you work at this project with two guys who worked with Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis, the Dig and Curse?

This project did not end up being a Lassie production. I was interested at first in taking it on, but ultimately the producer and I came to a mutual agreement to part ways. He had a ridiculously tight deadline that I was going to have a very hard time fulfilling, and he was leery of contracting with someone who had a full-time job. Can't say that I blame him... given the demands of a freelance "hobby" game and my "put food on the table" 9 to 5; if push came to shove, his project would have taken second priority.
Bummer though, it would have been a great project.

Haha!
Just saw it for the first time! Great voice acting ... I'm still laughing.

Actually we're hiring again :) we're looking for a new coder for episode 2. And this time we offer a higher salary than what offered on episode 1. Those interested either email me at dimitris *at* theexchangestudent *dot* com or msn dimidimidimi *at* hotmail *dot* com .

While I'm still interested... I'm realistic enough to know that I can't commit the time. Bummer. I hate passing up gigs like this.
