The Lassie engines are all down to Greg on his lonesome
the rest of us. he payed us to be his friend, although we never got the cheque! then locked the door so we couldn't get out, the guy next to me has been here 50 years and smells funny :? ONLY JOKING!! :P
we're just a bunch of like minded people who enjoy making games, from all walks f life :D
me personally, i have way to much time on my hands and i really should find a real job lol

IMAO!!! I pictured the whole thing..lol..Wow for one guy he is doing a great job..Wish I knew ActionScript. I would give him a hand as far as the programming. I like this community. Its small but the people are not rude like most forums..
I hope you can find the key to get out of that room he locked you in  At least you have internet :)
Thanks

Yeah, Lassie engine development is a one-man show. However, if I didn't have anyone using it I'd probably get bored and abandon the project. So I consider every one of our forum members a valuable "community" asset to add life and personality to this project. Therefor, "Team Lassie" is anyone who involves them self with the project to any degree.
So, welcome to "The Team" ;-)

Why do you think we all love adventure games so much.... they help us come up with ideas on how to get out of this room :-D

Oh, on this note, would anyone like a "team" job? I'd love to get a web admin... For a couple reasons:
1) I'd love to redesign the website, or at least wire it into a simple CMS. If anyone knew how to do this or had time to research it (and set up something like Movable Type or something) that would be awesome.
2) If nothing else, I'd really like to have an active admin to keep site content rolling... As in to make updates, add stuff at their leisure, and just keep the site active. I was doing this for a while and it didn't work very well. I'd end up investing an evening a week in "PR stuff" that I could have been working on the engine... not good time efficiency. I just can't do both.
If anyone is interested, I'd REALLY appreciate your help.

I would love to be a site admin but I don't want to step over anyone who has been here longer and understands the program way more then me. But if no one else has the time I could take on the project. As far as the programming of the site that would not be my avenue. If it is to early for me to apply for this I completely understand.

So, welcome to "The Team"
Thank You glad to be a part of the team...
Have A Great One Guys!!!

I'll definitely keep you in mind... but for the time being (and as you have already acknowledged), I do have reserves about turning over "the keys" to the Lassie site to one-week member. No offense toward you personally, this is just general principal. And in time, I'd love to take you up on your volunteer to admin!

Yeah, so true. I never understood that ... why are there so many rude people out there in the web. It's like a tigers pit ...
and the strange thing is that those with the biggest mouths are the most stupid ones. I mean, I'm not really spamming the lassie forum but if i want to spend time on the web, i come here :)

I completely understand bigmac. No offense taken. I would feel the same way about turning over the keys to someone so early. But I will continue to drill away at this program to learn as much as I can. Thank you for acknowledging my post though.

It is like a tiger's pit. Especially if someone posts a topic that a admin doesn't agree with then the rest of the community goes nuts on that one person.lol Its funny.
Thank you both for your replies. I am off to learn some more of Lassie.

Yeah.... I remember a certain website based on an adventure game that got "highjacked" because the access to the site was given to someone ;-)
Ikonz101- 07-24-2007
Ouch!!!! Yeah it is hard to trust anyone online or off nowadays. Thats pretty messed up that they hijacked them. People nowadays..

LOL!! He refers to "Isle of the Man-Eaters", which was our OLD-skool 1994-era Monkey Island fan site. Our implant cannibal god never actually hijacked access to our Geocities account, but he did have a run with changing the site up drastically. I think by the time I wanted to go in to clean up his crap, I'd forgotten the password. Or maybe he'd changed it... I honestly don't remember.

Nice!!!LOL..

The way I remember it he changed it.... but we are talking over 10 years ago :-)
