Undefined
Hi folks, I think I found the root of the problem behind all those "undefined's" that crop up in the dialogue. An extra line of actionscript in Alice's character sprite was the culprit. (Finding stuff like that makes me soooo glad I decided to beta -*test*-('").) Thanks for all the feedback so far guys. I really appreciate it.

Yawning
Hi Beta Testers, I tried to give Alice a bit more character in this chapter by making her celebrate beating a puzzle or yawning when she's bored by a wrong try. It's a tricky balance through b/c I don't want her yawning so much the player gets tired of it, or too little so the player never sees the animation. I was wondering if any of you guys got her to yawn? Was it too often, too little, or a good balance? Thanks

Matt Kempke- 09-21-2008

Hey! Yawning was good, sighing too much :) Now, we're off to the train station! Prague's waiting. Greg says: Hello everyone!

NigeC- 09-21-2008

I def think there was to many sigh's Really nice game and enough to keep it enjoyable, but not to mind blowingly difficult, got stuck a few times but on a second look i saw the error of my ways lol

Shofixti- 09-21-2008

Way too many sighs for my taste. And there were a few places where I wasn't quite sure why she was yawning... but the victory celebrations were all handled nicely. (also; I'm back, so I'll finish my run of the game tonight)

(sigh)
Yes, Alice seemed manic depressive in this chapter, didn't she? I actually wrote the sighs in as a default dialogue prompt because I kept getting them at random times and I thought this was the most common thing she could say (rather then saying "I can't do that." randomly). But once I eliminated the errant actionscript line in her sprite, the default dialogues stopped appearing. So, no more sighing. She's now on Prozac.

Thanks!
Hi folks, Wanted to publicly thank Greg, Matt, Nige, and Mike for helping me beta -*test*-('") chapter three. I really appreciate the feedback. It was immensely helpful in fixing up some bugs. And it was good getting notes from people who really understand the adventure game genre. Let me know if you guys ever need help looking over anything. Tucker

Alright... wow! Sounds like with release on the horizon, I'd best get working on a promotional graphics package for the Lassie website!

NigeC- 09-29-2008

Your welcome mate.. Alright... wow! Sounds like with release on the horizon, I'd best get working on a promotional graphics package for the Lassie website! make that two.. imagine all the things Lassie AS shouldn't be able to do, all rammed into one game.. combined with a sick Englishman's mind  Just when you thought it was safe hehe

bigmac- 09-30-2008

LOL... yes Nige, you certainly define all the things that Lassie is not SUPPOSED to do. So I have to ask, have you dabbled in AS3 at all? If so, any thoughts?

NigeC- 10-01-2008

I haven't done a great deal with AS3, i did try to do assets for Shepherd from the docs and it all seemed to come together ok, at the moment i only used the trial version so i didn't have a lot of time

bigmac- 10-02-2008

You'll all want to stop into the Lassie website right about now. Timer's rollin'. :D Congrats Tucker!
