Shepherd Icons Hey all,
I'm doing some relaxed icon design for Shepherd right now. If anyone would like to contribute some ideas, designs, or finished illustrations, feel free. The style that I'm going for is a vector semi-shine, along the lines of the Firefox logo. Basically, the style shouldn't look out of place in Mac OSX or Windows Vista. Icons currently in production and their current concepts:
- Collections (shopping bag stuffed with random items)
- Items (group of random items)
- Item Combos (balloon and pin within a starburst)
- Actors (open to ideas)
- Default Responses (speech balloon labeled as "{?}")

Actors could be the drama faces

I had considered that... or a pair of the nose, mustache, and eyebrow glasses.

Button Icon ideas/examples Hiya all..
Seems like i've known your names for ages as ive been lurking like a stalker around these forums for ages... :D
I'm a huuge retro adventure fan, and love what greg has done with the whole lassie studio so far, im holding off the production of my own masterpiece  until super shepard is complete, but would love to help move its production along.
Was working on some random bits and bobs the other day (im a flash illustrator and animator) which kinda lend themselves to the ideas greg had for his buttons so i've quickly thrown together two button ideas, just to see if they fit the style your thinking at all.
If not no harm done, but if you like the style i can probably spare a bit of freetime here and there to run up some more icons and save you some time.
let me know your thoughts..

HA! Awesome... I love the rubber chicken. Yours are funnier than mine are (which could be a good thing!). Mine are a bit more formal Web 2.0-ish. I only have one of my designs here at work, but my general theme has been looking like this:
Maybe we'll have to have a preferred style poll. =)

cooool..
I actually prefer yours!! :) I think my stuff is a little too detailed for an icon to be honest, and i love the clean lines and 2.0 feel of yours.. much more practical too.
If there's any other little bits i could help with let me know :)

You know, the funniest thing about your 'collections' icon is how similar it came out to mine... I'll have to post mine tomorrow if I can remember to bring the artwork in with me. I also drew a brown paper bag at about the same view angle with a set of golf clubs sticking up the way your ladder does, a wench, a beachball (with the same colors as your umbrella), and a pineapple. And I've been thinking of going back in and adding a few dangling items hanging out of it like your string is. I was actually a little taken aback when I saw your illustration... for a second I thought you'd read my mind until I remembered that I'd included a rough description of an icon concept.
Still, it's funny how closely we were drawn to the same result.
