my only suggestion is to make the drip look less like a loop. Make it a bit more infrequent with a few alternating durations between drips. Right now it's hypnotically repetitive.

yes i agree, actually i cocked up! at the moment the spill animation is on the background.. i need to make it as a separate animation as the bartender stands behind the bar.. DOH.. i can wangle the Layer but the barman hides the bear lol..
Also the door frame needs to be higher unless ii give him duck animation going out

FYI... It's best not to put animations directly into your background layer. The animation will blow the graphics cache of the object. Mind you, this doesn't make much difference with the current version of LassieAS that is published in Flash Player 7. However, future Lassie releases will tap heavily into the Flash bitmap data methods introduced in Flash Player 8, at which time having the background cache will be a big optimization point.

I've pulled everything off the background
Its a lot easier to move things about as separate items specially as the rooms keep getting tweaked so the character is in proportion at any given point
still can't get walk areas right! you maybe getting an email of a "show me where!" type.. i can write tutorials but can i f*** make the character behave!
yes i have seen walk areas for dummies.. I have amoeba level dumbness

Nige,
Send me a screenshot of your room... I'll draw an optimized grid and send back a picture of it. Or is it one of the screens already posted here?
Shofixti- 12-20-2007
Hey Nige, I have a little bit of spare time in the near future, if you have any need of 3dsmax, or my meager skills in 3D, let me know and I'll do what I can.
NigeC- 12-20-2007
Do you fancy doing a 3D version of Dizzy? I've been buggering about with 3DGS recently.. although my video card has decided it doesn't like it lol
I have some pics of 3D Dizzy if it would help
Shofixti- 12-20-2007
3D game studio? man its been awhile since i used that... I was what, 10 when I bought that...
Anyway I would be honored to help anyway I can, but maybe we should take this up in a more on-topic thread.

As mentioned in the NOTH online -*test*-('") thread, I've scrapped the NOTH game, if anyone wants the resources let me know, it could be useful to someone to see how it all works, the CST is 30meg, also the FLA's SWF's and JPG's which come to around 77 meg (ouch!) i'd extract the FLA's into a second library layout to get the file sizes down
I also have a decompiled version of the original NOTH
You can do whatever with it, as long as i get some credit if you continuie with the game or recycle art (doubt any one would), but your on your own as far as extra media or progressive support goes, sorry
As Greg is doing with Lassie its time to move forward and a remake of a fan game isn't the way to go

Very similar idea behind why I scrapped Hitchhikers
NigeC- 01-17-2008
I just felt even trying to make the game my own would have a negitive effect, people would have pre concieved ideas to how the game should be done, and probably hate all the changes
I saw the hitchHikers film the other and didn't really like it, my pre defined image of how it should of been was built around the TV series, nice that they had the original Marvin and some of the original cast thrown in tho
