there is some religious relevance but it kinda got lost in commercial hype... i guess fluffy bunnies and choccie eggs with a pinch of Christianity i a bit more appealing :roll:

LOL! Yeah Noodle, Christians observe Easter as the day that Jesus was ressurected. But as John and Nige say, somewhere over time the day got sold out as another excuse to have a party, this one themed to bunnies, eggs, and lots of sweets.
The thing that stumps me the most is how a rabbit came to be the bearer of painted chicken eggs. I mean, come ON! It doesn't take a genious to figure that–in the greater Darwinian sense–there is something wrong with this picture!
