MI Question
Did the Hermit character appear in other MI games? I've been offered the chance to remake a AGS game Night of the Hermit in Lassie, which is to be completely revamped and updated, I'm pulling towards CMI style graphics, I've never finished CMI  so i don't know if he ever appeared in it to see how the character evolved graphically. theres other cameo characters i'll get some names lol If anyone has any free time to help with redrawing the characters give me a shout

*Spoiler Alert* He was in MI4, where you helped him regain his memory to reveal he was in fact H. T. Marley, Elaine's Grandfather. Though MI4 also 'revealed' the giant monkey head on Monkey Island to be a robot, so im not really sure how much you want to take that game's word for it! MI4 always felt kind of out of place with the other MI games to me... Oh and he is represented in CMI at the end by a carnival puppet, you can see the animation here (http://www.milegend.com/animations/animations.php?animid=34)

thanks :) i've found some concept art for him for MI4, not the 3D version that should fit the bill nicely I plan to do some screen shots of a tweaked version of the original style of NOTH and also a totally updated set

man.... I've done such a nice job of putting MI4 behind me.... I only remember my favorite puzzle (which wasn't that good, just kinda cool) running into yourself in the time swamp, the worst puzzle, "You've defiled my platypus" and that damn giant monkey..... I forget most of the rest of the story

So i needn't bother tracking the game down huh?

*MI4 Spoiler Alert* The story can be summed up as this: Commercialism has overrun the Caribbean with major franchises like Starbuckaneers and Planet Threepwood (?!?!?) overrunning the islands. A foppish (but powerful) new mayor character has allowed this horrendous breach of pirate tradition to take place under his watch. Guybrush must now fight to purge commercialism and reveal the sinister figure behind this poofey mayor by constructing... THE ULTIMATE INSULT. This swashbuckling tale climaxes with an epic battle of Monkey Kombat between a giant monkey robot and an enchanted stone statue. As I recall there's a bunch of chattering and grunting like monkeys (as a puzzle solution) in there too. Have you ever heard people speak of just how horrendously BAD this game is, and just how horribly it defaced the great series that WAS Monkey Island? Take this advise: If you haven't played it, don't; that way you it doesn't taint your perspective on the other three fantastic games.

Yeah... kinda like watching JUST the Godfather makes it a better film than watching all three...

Pretty much the same happened with the Mad Max films, first two films where great, although not main stream, they did ok, some preferred the second, as a biker i relate to the first more....BUT THEN they made the 3rd! what a crock of sh*t that was! Add a load of "commercial" appeal, a re-born (or revived  ) singer and ho yeah loads of lost children needing saving, remove all the noisy horrible action scenes and run it off a pig poo farm lol honestly i have the box set DVD's and i have only attempted to watch it once, and thats because the kids wanted to.. they hated it too!

Yeah, and its not even that they should have quit while they were ahead... I think that there are plenty more great stories to be told in the Monkey Island world... but MI4 jus wasnt one of them. I t was badly designed, the graphics were crap (they seem to have went to 3d not because it looked better, but because it was 3d) and numerous other irritating things... like did ANYONE get who the HECK 'Timmy the monkey' was? Oh and why did they change Elaine's voice?
