Mac bug - editor won't open I'm using Mac v.81b4 on a Macbook Pro running OS X 10.5.1 and the LassieAS editor will not open. Instead, it opens a Terminal window with the following text. Is this a bug or something I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for the quick reply and welcome. I'm looking forward to working on a game and sharing with the forums. Unfortunately I still can't get the editor to run on my Mac. I tried your alt-download site and it still spawns the same error in Terminal. Is there a previous version I could download and try?
I really appreciate the effort to help me, but I'm still having the same problem. The fact it opens the Unix Terminal is strange. What type of file is the editor? Maybe I should try opening it with a different application?

If I had to guess, the Mac app is not taking kindly to being zipped. It's probably loosing its application headers, so probably needs to be distributed through a DMG. Use the Lassie website contact form to send me an email with your email address. I'll DMG the application launcher and email it to you. I need an email that will accept about a 3Mb attachment. Cool?
BTW: welcome.

Similar OS X woes I just discovered Lassie and really want to play around with it...but I'm also getting the nonsense with the UNIX executable (which cannot be executed...ironic). Can I hit you up for the .dmg?

try downloading the v0.65 release launcher. They all use the same stub launcher app, and I know this one had it's launch app protected within a DMG file rather than a raw zip (which apparently snuffs out file identity)

grab the launcher out of there and replace your existing one with it,

I copied over the launcher but it didn't seem to work. When I tried starting a new project, it gave me this:
Director Player Error
Script Error. Continue?
I ended up just using the whole v065 version of Lassie and that seems to work okay.

Good deal. I dunno what went wrong with versioning... and now I can't sort everything out! So, I'm working on rebuilding the suite in AS3 which will keep the project up to speed with times. That old Director stuff is getting derilect.
