LassieAS Player Customization? Hello again;
I was wondering if it would be possible in future versions of LassieAS to customize some cosmetic details of the player; i think one of the most interesting features of the tool is to create games that can be played directly on the browser, integrated on a bigger 'frame' (i.e. website), and changing the color scheme of the loading screen would be a nice detail
This is kinda frivolous, and I am obviously not asking you to release an open FLA of the player, but I think some kind of external SWF library for the interface would be a nice touch :idea:

Well, quite literally *everything* about the player IS already customizable save for that initial loader screen background color. The menu is customizable, the dock, the typefaces... those are all assets in the system folder of the external library. As for that player screen, I'd like to make that accessible in LassieAS 2.0, which would be the version that accompanies the Shepherd editor.
That said, learn to love the blue-on-blue, cause you're going to be looking at it for a while!

'Kay, no problem :) .
Speaking of flash "wrappers", i've read in other post about the method of "locking" the _root of the lassieAS main SWF; I've used before that function, and I think it still lets through other references, such as _parent or _level0. Will these cause conflicts?

I wouldn't think so, given that nothing sitting on the root timeline should be calling up to a _parent. That would be undefined in a standard _root environment. Also, _level0 should be treated by flash as the same thing as "_root", so I wouldn't think it would matter. Regardless, I've never used the _level0 reference for anything, so it is a moot consideration in the case of Lassie.
