biscuits can be anything! ...but not jaffa cakes. :D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaffa_Cake#Cake_or_biscuit.3F (scroll down to the 'cake or biscuit' part) Apparently a big definition is that biscuits go hard when stale, whereas cakes go soft... apparently the word biscuit comes from the latin word for 'cooked twice', because the British Navy used found that the more times u cooked them while making them the longer they lasted... or something :D

Oh man, that is one of the funniest pieces of reality I have read in a while! That's awesome. "Today in court, we'll be deciding if product X is a biscuit or cake so that we can tax it accordingly." :D

I know this is probably an American thing, but it makes me think of Fig Newtons.... "It's not a cookie mother, it's fruit and cake"

Ironically enough, only one day after learning of the existence of Jaffa cakes and of the raging debate surrounding them, they showed up as a case study in a Flash promotional piece that I've been working on for one of major food distributor clients. The case study cleverly avoided the entire cake/biscuit controversy.

Big Jaffa Cake fan here ... at least I was, when I was smaller. Jaffa Cakes and Movies were the perfect combination. Today I still eat a lot of chocolate chip cookies and I drink a lot of milk - in the evening I switch over to Whiskey, though. I'm addcited to milk. But lately my body seems to hate milk and cookies - i always get a stomach ache. I'm being forced to grow up :) I believe Jaffa Cakes become hard ... and cake too right? I have seen a piece of cake hard like a brick. Too old.
