Inventory problem i have this re occurring problem with my inventory...
If the inventory fills up and the scroll arrows come into play, when i do a reaction i end up getting undefined objects and occasionally an item will disappear :?
i've got the inventory as minimal as possible and removing items that aren't needed so the problem goes away , but I KNOW how to do the game, where as someone else playing it, is gonna have problems
could it be something as simple as a setItemCursor('_none') to early in the TIMes?
but it still doesn't explain why it does it only after the scroll arrows are used

Hm, I haven't run across any inventory problems that I'm aware of, and I've got LOADS of inventory objects.

Spelling Double check the spelling of any inventory items referenced in your TIMe's. I misspelled a few of my inventory items and often made the item plural when it should have been singular (ie bananas instead of banana) The engine would then add an undefined item thinking my misspelled word was an entirely new item.

i think you may have it.. the inv arrows have numbers, 1 and 2, the items that end up undefined also have numbers ie clip and clip1
i'll rename them and see what happens

it wasn't the inventory swf, i gave everything unique names and it didn't fix it.. it was where i had the setItemCursor('_none'), i had it before the remove and add inv items
with 3DA i had problems with people being able to get multiple inv items when double clicking, hence why i put the command first but thinking on that was caused by the lack of the setItemCursor
i have noticed the cursor can disappear if you double click just after you do the interaction

just pick everything up that you can until the inv is full and the scroll arrows appear.. the picture is there to stop the first item disappearing

Nope, same one as always. I haven't changed or updated anything within the engine since that run of bugs I was processing back in January. Ah... the lost advantages of unemployment...

Oh friggin' sweet!!! I need to get to bed and I haven't finished playing through the game yet, so was cursing that I'd have to start over tomorrow. BUT... I forgot I could save my game!! I love it when stuff like that just works without even remembering how its programmed. I'm trying to reproduce the bug Nige, thus far though I haven't had enough inven items at once to induce scrolling.
How do you open the toolbox?

i keep trying different things and i seem to of stopped it, later on today i'll post it for beta -*test*-('")ing, i've been offline all week and most of it is finished apart from the speech.. which it may not get as its getting a bit to complicated

ok another problem... if people keep the inventory open and double click, items multiply, they aren't seeing items getting removed so assume they the missed clicked, if they move off the inventory allowing it to close its not a problem but people just don't do that!
