Inventory interaction disrupts walk cycle Hello again; I had posted about this in the FAQ section, but I guess it belongs here better. Ok, so the glitch goes like this :
- When interacting with the inventory (using one of the verbs, using two items together, etc.) WHILE the character is walking, the interaction -including animations- will be executed as the character "slides" through the rest of the walking path.
- Obviously the trigger scenario isn't common, but it could end up happening in games with slow character movement or with really zoomed-out scenes.
- Also, the sliding animation (usually the talking one) will revert again to the walk animation if the path changes the facing direction of the character or if the interaction ends before the path is complete.
- And just in case, this happens in both LassieAS and Lassie Director games (I originally discovered it on Matt's WMYT)
I tried to work around the glitch using a MoveToObj targeted to the character itself as the first action of every interaction, and it sort of worked: the character ends its path before processing the rest of the actions. But surprisingly, it ONLY works if the character is on motion when the interaction is called; if it's idle, the interactions never get to be processed, probably because the character doesn't get to complete the first task, since it's already on the target location. I tried switching the "suspend" value to #false, but it doesn't work either (don't really understand why). So, I won't really keep trying, since there's probably an incredibly easy solution I haven't realized  . Soooo, HELP!, and stuff... :D

I believe that is just an oversite (or something Greg couldn't fix) in the interface.... from the sound of it, this happens in every game, anytime this is attempted. If that is the case, this thread technically belongs in the bug forum. I think at one point Greg had blocked out any verbcoin/inventory interactions while the character is walking.... not sure what happened with that.... there may have been a reason he unlocked it.
BTW..... your icon is of a Zombie Pirate..... not a Ghost Pirate as your name implies ;-)

Haha, wait 'till I get my Demon Pirate signature ready :D
Well, I think disabling interactions is a little extreme; It would be nice if the character would stop when the verb coin is summoned or an item is selected, or something like that.
