How long would a 4-room project take?
:?: If you had all the artwork and animation and speech done for a game with 4 rooms, how long would it take to put together in Lassie? Approximately. Thanks for the note and feedback. In the deme game there I had the artwork already, as well as the flash animations for the character. The graphics did, however, still need to be split into layers and converted to bitmaps, etc. I had no voice preparred. To bring the demo all together and make fully playable and voiced, I invested two evenings of work... probably 3 hours each. I also put another couple hours in over the course of the next week adding in little touches here and there that I thought would be cool or better showcase the engine, also re-recorded the first half out the dialogue lines because I had been clueless on how to record sound at first. Overall, not a huge investment, but then all projects will be different. I can't speak for how long it would take you.

It can also depend on the puzzles. You could do an adventure that takes place in one room but actually has dozens of puzzles. Or an adventure with 10 rooms but each room only has one brief thing to do. Things that I find generally take the longest are things that aren't being done within LASSIE, such as the artwork (so if you draw fast, you'll get your graphics done faster), writing puzzles, writing dialogue, animating characters, etc. Once you actually have all your resources (graphics, sound, etc.) placing them in LASSIE and scripting out the TIMe's can actually go pretty quick.
