Hello! New developer here. I wasn't really sure where to put this, but I saw a few similar threads in "Discussions" so figured you didn't mind too much!
I'm Kerry. I'm a Flash developer by day, and I've been tinkering around with adventure games (playing and making my own) for donkey's years. Naturally, I was pretty pleased to find this site!
I've been planning a new game for about a year or so, and finally have the time to devote to making it happen. I'm working on a project website at the moment, and will let you all know when that's up and running so you can see what I'm up to.
That's about it for now - just wanted to start off with a friendly post before I started bombarding you all with questions! Hopefully it won't be too much of a one-way street, though - I'm hoping I'll be able to help out with a few Flash tricks of my own once I've got the hang of things.

Welcome Kerry! As a fellow professional Flash guru by day, where are you working out of and what sorts of projects do you work on? I might elaborate upon that question... if you're in America, has the 2008 plague of interactive Elections maps hit you? Seems like that is the only thing people want to spend money on this year!

How many interactive election maps does a country need??
bigmac- 04-01-2008
Dunno... but everyplace here in Washington is after them given that this city eats, sleeps, and breathes politics (for obvious reasons). It's also become a giant peeing content to see who can get the most users. I've now done AOL News' elections maps and National Public Radio's. Thankfully AOL went away. Unfortunately though, NPR is on a bit of a power kick given that they've become the #1 hit on Google for Elections '08 coverage. So, I forsee a great portion of my year continuing to be devoted to them and their interactive map obsession... *sigh* That's not to imply that these are bad clients or bad projects, you just grow tired of any project without a foreseeable end.

Luckily, I'm not stuck with election maps for the rest of the year - I'm in the UK, and my day job has nothing to do with politics or the media!
Thanks for the friendly welcome, all.

OK, the project website is here: Really Fancy Games. I've been so swamped with work that I haven't had time to upload much yet, but I'll be updating it fairly regularly. Feel free to stop by!
