Guybrush Lives Again!
Came across this and thought it was pretty cool http://langleycreations.com/andrew/blog/?p=52 This guy seems to be attempting to make a Flash-based adventure game engine, which I think you'll all agree is a pretty cool concept, right Greg? ;)

(sarcasm)Wow.... a flash based adventure game engine! That's brilliant , why hasn't someone thought of that before. (end sarcasm) I actually think this one has been brought up before. I know I've seen that demo before. Ah yes, this is the guy that Greg actually worked with MANY years ago. WhipBamBoom Says: April 29th, 2007 at 11:25 am Id hate to bust your bubble (maybe you know about this already), but there is already an engine for flash adventure games being created, called Lassie AS. Look into it, maybe you could be of help to the source. Also, developers known as Pinhead games have great games developed in flash, they are freeware too. check out these links http://www.gmacwill.com/lassie/ http://www.pinheadgames.com/ You would think that flash games would be great for an old computer, but it is unfortunate that flash is processor reliant and my computer is a little old (P III). I have all the programs to create an adventure game in flash, im just waiting to be able to purchase a new comp to be able to run them w/out any slow motion frame rates. I can’t wait until Im able to do so, it is really a dream of mine to create. Hopefully one day you will create one too. Judging from the source presented it seems like you know what you are doing, i mainly have experience in just graphics and animation. Andrew Langley Says: April 29th, 2007 at 12:09 pm Ah yes, I am a bit familiar with Greg’s engine from back when it was a Director/Shockwave project. Cool to see he’s branching out into Flash. Funny thing is that his Flash demo uses background art that he did for a project that he and I worked on together a long time ago. http://www.gmacwill.com/lassie/content/games/demo_as.htm And here is the original thread, with a little more on his (Greg) and Andrew's past. forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=402" target="_blank">http://lassie.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=402
