Get protection! heres a nice way to hide your downloadable game folders:
You will need Winrar
optional:Executable File Icons Changer
Ok we're going to pack a Lassie AS igame nto a Winrar archive
select the library and the player.swf (or exe,html), right click and select "add to archive.....
in winrar you start of in the general section check the "create SFX archive"
next click the comment tab and add these lines in "add comments manually"
Overwrite=1
Silent=1
TempMode
Setup=player.swf
the line:Setup=player.swf change to whatever your player name is and file extension, ie *.swf,*.exe,*.html
pack your archive
launch the archive and your game will run without extracting!
if you use Executable File Icons Changer you can change the the winrar icon to something less obvious
it is possible to do this on the net but i haven't worked that out yet lol

your special new method doesn't work in FireFox, sadly.

What i would do for a downloadable game is do the above, so we get a exe to run the game and make up a couple of folders for docs etc, then stick it all in a rar or zip for downloading
the idea is to hide the assets from the public, most people wouldn't think to check to see if it will extract
the best way is to pack it up with a installer program that creates a desktop icon
