Yes... the long rumored "Flash Killer". Flash might want to be nervous if it was anything other than a Microsoft product. As such, the multimedia community takes it about as seriously as we do Windows Media Player... which is not very seriously. We stick to more robust and accessible media methods that aren't just going to cater exclusively to one operating system. While Microsoft does build Mac and Linix versions of some of their "accessible" apps (like WMP or Office), the things suck so badly that that it's really just a token gesture of giving a nod to "those other guys". They really only develop for Windows.

I just can't see what Microsoft could offer that Flash doesnt have... but no doubt theyll start shipping it with Windows and people will use it and accept it because they cant be bothered learning the real thing

Exactly!!! The only other software that I think could compete with Flash would be Javascript.. But not so much as to say its going to make it obsolete.. M$ fan boys can get sickening.

P.S. As far as Windows Media Player it does suck..I use VLC Mediaplayer which M$ can't even touch.. Plus it works on Mac and Linux.. If you haven't heard of it check it out here:
