Flash Tracer
For those interested, there's a plugin for FireFox called "FlashTracer" that allows you to watch the debugging output from any Flash movie running within the browser. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3469 The installation also requires the debug version of Flash Player, available from the Adobe site. Anyhow, I generally keep the console closed since I don't need it for standard web browsing, but I've been debugging a project today so had it open while browsing these forums. The output window went NUTS with activity from some of these banner ads, which is bad form to begin with given that you should alway disable debugging output before releasing your finished product. So, some "clown" banner ad on here was clearly developed by a bunch of noobs, given that they have about 20 null properties that Flash is complaining about. Also, I thought you'll might be interested in some debugging output that the developer is shouting silently at us from behind the scenes: "NO YOU SUCK! DON'T TAKE THE LORD'S NAME IN VAIN" erm... right. This dude has issues. Just goes to show what's being said behind your back as you browse the web.
