Dialog duration time..
A question :?: I've just wondered:  How does Lassie(dir or as) figures out how much time should it view the current dialog line before delivering the next dialog line?

From what I've observed, the time spent displaying dialog is based entirely on how many letters are in the text. A sentence like "hello" displays for less time than "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." It does (at least in the Director version) seem to register spaces as characters, so if you want something to display longer add some spaces. If you have a sound file associated with the text, then it only displays as long as the sound plays. Greg, could "text speed" be an option the player can choose (like where they select "full screen")? Like a "slow, normal, fast" text speed option. Or perhaps just two options: "auto text cycle" and "manual text cycle". "Auto" would be the defualt that it is now, the text displays and delivers the next line automatically (or when the sound files ends), and "manual" would continue to display the text (even after the sound is done) waiting for the player to click before displaying the next line.
