Customizing the Menu hi folks,
I've been trying to really customize my game's menu and I've hit a snag. I'm hoping that someone who knows actionscript better than me can figure it out.
Anyways, one of the big criticisms I always get is that my hints and help section are outside the game flash movie. People hate having to reload the game everytime they want to check one of these out. So, I built them all into this complex movie which I nestled into the background of the menu movie within Lassie. Everything works great when I play the game from a standalone flash player. I can zoom through all my menus and still save and load games, all without leaving the LASSIE player.
The problem comes when I try to run the player in a web browser. Sometime the game never loads, other times it loads without any buttons. What could be making it act all screwy?
Any thoughts?

Never mind! Aha! I got it to work.
For some reason opening the swf file directly from the browser causes it to go nuts. But if you embed the flash into some html it works just fine.
I'm sure there's a perfectly logical explanation for this, but I'm going to chock it up to magic for the sake of simplicity.

LOL.... I'm sure if Greg wasn't in Europe, he'd tell you why it needs to be embedded :-)

Actually, I dunno. I'd have to see it in action.
