Content Aware Image Resizing Here's another amazing development on the cutting edge of computer graphics... These guys are using image analysis algorithms to assess "seams" within an image; then add/remove pixels along those seams as the image is resized. The result is that your image changes frame size without stretching the image content. It's kinda hard to explain... check it out:

This actually is NOT a new concept, but it looks like these guys have figured out how to do it efficiently and pretty darn intelligently. Either way, pretty darn cool.

That is quite an interesting presentation.... it's nice to know that YouTube isn't just for idiots pouring Coffee and Whiskey through their nasal passages.

Wow... my first reaction was to be snobby and think 'hey! thats cheating!'... but if thats cheating then so is photoshop, its just easier than photoshop :) heres hoping it will be a feature of Adobe CS 5 :D
I guess its going to get to the stage where it will be as easy to 'draw' an image with photos as it is to do it with a pencil, and the only thing limiting how good the images we produce are is how good our imagination is... maybe the next step after this new image resizing thing is auto-composition... were ur picture can automatically be made to adhere to the law of thirds :)

stunning. I'd love to use this feature in standard Websites. With flash you already could do it ;)
