AARGH Vista! Well after years struggling with well below spec PC's, we finally got a new decent one, BUT Vista and Truespace don't mix! I use TS6.6 as the new one is bloody aweful, but Vista doesn't like it lol, i can't use the shaders used it NOTH, TS just locks up, so i can upgrade to TS7.5 which i don't like , plus can't afford, swap back and forth to our old PC which is about knackered or find different software, which ever option it'll seriously effect NOTH, the saving grace is all the demo backgrounds where done, but a full game would be in a totally different style.
Vista on the whole is rather pretty! but it like being forced to wear a chastity belt at times! and the constant popup's asking "do you really wanna do that?!" gets really annoying, i'm managed to stop most of the nags now

I think I speak for John, Greg, myself, and all the other Mac users on the board when I reply to this. And keep inmind that I am also a windows and linux user (have mostly ditched windows though)... I have one thing to say (before I ramble on any more)
VISTA Sucks! (I'll leave it at that)

I changed my mind.... since this is the off-topic channel, I'm going to rant for a minute.
This is what I think is wrong with Windows (vs. Mac OS's for comparison)
Back in 1984 (probably '83 when they began work) Apple stole some technology from IBM (the mouse) that allowed them to make a nice easy GUI operating system. Bill Gates and Microsoft decided they would steal the idea from Apple. Apple was bent on making home computers, while Microsoft was more about buisness, and didn't make their operating system as easy to use.
Years down the line, Apple kept with their idea of "simple." Microsoft decided somewhere (around ME) that they needed to make Windows easier to use. The problem is, they think that "dummy-proof" is the way to make it easier. So you get things like "Do you really want to do that?" messages when you try to copy a file. They don't realize that simple is completely different than dummy proof, and that is their failing.
Of course there's going to be some geek out there (that is a term of endearment) who is going to say something about my logic.... it's all just my own speculation, and therefore there is no references for any of that.

I thought long and hard whether to use Vista or go to Mac but at the end of the day it boiled down to money.. or lack of
I'd of had to start from scratch, so it wasn't really an option..
I totally agree Windows sucks, the thing that bugs me most every version was buggy as hell but your rail roaded into using it, I couldn't send out a customers car that was only half wired up and expect the customer to wait for updates... if Linux had Flash publishing software i'd gladly move on to it
