Another Question underlining my noobyness! It seems that the lassieas_v08b_(RES).swf file wont work... This whole time I was using the LassieASv08b_(RES).exe which works fine every publish. Whenever I run the .swf locally it just says"Loading Player" and loads forever. After uploading the .swf and all the other necessary files to my server I, oddly, get a difrent error. It loads the player, but then never finishes loading the gamedata after I start a new game. Something tells me this is a just an obvious mistake.

Theres been a few problems with the Lassie AS releases but v8 is a very old one, newer versions didn't have the player exe the current lassie has player lassieas_v082_RES.swf the current Windows release V82 on the website works fine, try downloading that, extract that into a different folder so you do a fresh build of Lassie and add copy of your project cst and your room assets. images.. Don't add the _systems folder as i had problems with miss match items doing 3DA There was an issue with Internet Explorer 7 where the screen was just white online you should have player swf library folder with cast, _system , rooms, _sound less the FLA's If you get stuck, send me your CST and library and i'll see if i can figure out why it aint working  nigec999 at gmail.com

Alright downloaded the la-*test*-('") version and updated... However the .swf files still dont work, and now that theres no EXE I just cant -*test*-('") it locally or on the server. Just to cover the obvious grounds, I export to AS, open _data.fla, publish, and run the SWF?

have you: Set the _inven path setup up a character with a start point and start room (the default one is a place holder image) you need a background image in the room otherwise theres no data to load the swf should run in the flash player installed with Flash or the web browser Try opening and publishing the _inven.fla for some reason it wouldn't load for me the file structure needs to be, player swf with the library under library.. rooms. _system and cast If your doing a first person you still need a character, use a blank 10x10 swf

Oh yes I have a working game... and this used to work 100% before I updated. but then I could only use the exe. I got an even stranger error trying to run it off firefox locally: It loads things beyond the canvas, and the framerate seems to have doubled so now you move at an insane speed and you don't have time to read text.

i can't understand why it would run locally in the flash stand alone player is the flash icon showing against the file?

Shofixti- 11-23-2007

Yup, and it runs in the flash player. just wont work. I think we need a Greg.

NigeC- 11-23-2007

If you NEED IT NOW!! Send the files and i'll have a look i think Greg may of gone off for the hols

Shofixti- 11-23-2007

Just tried it on another comp, and it seems to work... so its a local thing.

SeanCyrusTowel- 11-23-2007

Yeah, Greg went to Virginia (I believe that's where it is) for the holliday. He probably wont be back until Sunday.

Shofixti- 11-23-2007

Alright then, I'll just put this aside for a bit and maybe work on some MUGEN character or something.

bigmac- 11-26-2007

Yeah, I was in West Virginia... Wild and Wonderful. I'll post the last working versions that John and Nige were developing with this morning.

bigmac- 11-26-2007

K. I've done my Monday morning shuffling. Now it's time to get to work on a monster project due at the end of this week. I've posted what I believe to be the 0.81b4 files on the website this morning. Try 'em out. All further support requests will now be ignored until next week when I (hopefully) have a chance to breathe again. Until then, I'm just good for chit-chat.

Nothing. same infinite "player load time" This is some kind of local thing, my guess is theres something wrong with my flash player. Anyway hope you had a good one Greg, try not to overdo it :D

Shofixti- 12-03-2007

Alright well this IS a local problem, it works on my brothers computer! So what exactly is wrong? my flash player?
