2D Assassin final

Like tucker i seem to have problems with walk areas, this game is a pain with it all being in a confined space What are the problems? Again, I'm holding strong that walkable area glitches are not an engine bug, they're a result of the grid layout. With a little tweaking of the layout, I think we can clear these types of problems right up. Feel free to send me screenshots of your walkable area layouts within the editor and I'll offer feedback!

Hi Nige, The game is really coming along...nice comic book intro and the animations add a lot to the gameplay. The biggest problem I encountered (which I know you're aware of) was that the inventory scroll buttons wouldn't work after I got more items then fill the screen. Some other bugs I found so far. - The character faces the wrong way when opening the guitar case and taking the guns and ammo. This didn't happen the 2nd time I played. - When I tried to load the gun I somehow got 3 loaded guns in my inventory. The second time I played I got 2 loaded guns. - Instead of having the character say "I'm not sure what you want me to do." it would be nice to have a few more customized lines to reward the player for creative (albeit incorrect) thinking. - Instead of saying "use briefase" it should say "pick up" briefcase. There were a few more instances when you could use a more specific word then "use". - It would be nice if the character announces that he's found batteries inside the smoke detector instead of just seeing them appear. - after I get close the window the smoke detector moves sightly on the ceiling. - When I tried the broken hairclip on the briefcase I got 3 open briefcases! Overall, it looks great. I liked that you even added an animation of the character holding the board. Details like that really bring the character to life!

Great game! Everything comes together nicely. Heres my thoughts, for what theyr worth: - The intro screens look great, but a translucent box (white box with 50% alpha or summat) behind the text on the instructions screen might make the text easier to read? - Are your jpg. images on these screens set to 'lossless' quality in flash? They look a bit like flash has tried to distort them a little. - I liked the way you had little hints in the dialogue, like when u pick up the rubble. - When i used an object with another object, say bullets with gun, i got 2 loaded guns, as if the bullets had turned into a loaded gun, as well as loading the original gun. Same thing happened with battery and torch, and hairclip and briefcase. Great game tho! Really enjoyed it. Didnt find any easter eggs tho.. but its cool that there are some.

thanks guys the inventory is really causing problems and i can't figure it out the blurred images are down to me.. i resized the pictures in psp and flash made it worse :oops: There was a problem with him facing the wrong way with the smoke detector but a walk area fix seemed to sort that, i'll have a look at the guitar case one, i've not had him turn on that one yeah i know the smoke detector moves, every time i see it, i think "i must fix that!" and promptly forget lol same with the pile of rubble sprite overlapping the lump of rubble i'll have another go this week at the inventory, but nothing seems to fix it, there must be something really stupid i'm missing but can i hell find it :cry:

Oh and btw, at one point when walking towards the toolbox he walks over beside the door... which kind of confuses the 'i dont want to go near the window' argument.

Eureka! i know what the problem is with the inventory.. i tryed Something Amiss and Tucker's inventory acted totally different, mine displayed items until the inventory closed then they changed, where as SA cleared instantly, so out of interest i saved the player for something amiss basicly i used the wrong player, i thought i used the last fixed one from the interactive site but it it could be 3DA's original which is probably the Lassie AS v.8b version :oops: WHAT A PLANK!!

it looks like the game is as close as it will ever be, i've been highjacking my wifes m8's to -*test*-('") it lol apart from the odd facing the wrong way no one has managed to fault it, all in all theres over 20 sprites in a very confined space, i'm sure its causing the problem yet again my site went down in a few days :roll: but nordinho and gamershood have kindly offered to host the game all in all its been fun, apart from my stupid mistake with the player i was ready to throw in the towel at one point :oops: , i've learnt a lot more, but i still need to slow down and pay more attention to detail, because if there is a problem the whole world and his dog will find it :lol:

the game is officially final, the few bugs reported are fixed so i'm gonna take a break before i go insane or mess with it more and break it! Chain is on the back burner again, plan B has also fallen through, so i'm at a loose end right now at least i've got my janitor skills to fall back on :lol:

thanks m8, its got a rating of around 6/10 on gamershood, which isn't bad considering the scoring started with the buggy version and the download version has been download over 1000 times which is suprising anyway its the last of the short games, on to bigger things :wink:
